Creating a brand

The client (a London local authority) had established a new job brokerage project. The as yet unnamed project, was specifically set up to help local people gain skills and to work in partnership with local employers.

The newly appointed manager wished to develop a clear identity and brand for the project, raising its profile, particularly with local employers and voluntary and statutory organisations working with unemployed people.

Roma Thomas carried out in-depth interviews with the manager and project worker. She led a brand workshop with the creative input of design specialist Ellen Wibye. She also developed a communications plan for the project and co-ordinated a publicity photo shoot.

As a result of this work a new name – Work Is - and brand identity was created for the client. The project raised its profile and is now a well established part of the local authority’s focus on regeneration through increasing employment opportunities for local people.
