Promoting gender equality in the transport sector
The client (a public sector organisation) has established an independent, not for profit, membership organisation which seeks to increase the number of women in the transport industry and support women’s professional development.
Roma Thomas was part of the project team which established the organisation and led the work on marketing communications and events for the project.
An events programme was essential in order to deliver tangible benefits to members and sponsors. Roma put together a varied programme of activities including: development workshops, site visits and hard hat tours of transport projects. She also put together the organisation's marketing material including a well designed events calendar.
Feedback from members for the events programme has been excellent. For instance, in the annual members survey the events programme has consistently been rated by members as one of the most highly valued benefits of membership of the organisation.
